Questions on being Tormented in Hell

Hi XXXX;

Question:
Just as you and I know that God is a God of wisdom, a God of love and so on. Does it make sense that he would force the damned to rest in literal fire and torture in hell forever? Or is not asleep in the grave forever all that he requires?

Answer:
If you do not accept God and do things His Way, you Will spend eternity being tormented in the "Lake of Fire," for this is God's word to us. Not my interpretation of it, it is God's Promise to us.

Although there are many who choose to believe that:
1) God is so loving that He would not send anyone to hell,
2) God will just do away with us at the end and there will be no punishment, no pain, no suffering for disobeying Him,
3) That Hell is just a story made up to scare men into worshiping.
4) That if we refuse to believe, then it can not happen to us,
5) That if we do not understand it then it can not be real

God's Word repeatedly tells us that Hell and the Lake of Fire is real and will torment whoever is in it for all of eternity, or for all the time that is time, however you wish to name it, it is one very, very long time. God shows us that as long as He exist, the Lake of Fire will also exist, and Hell itself will be thrown into the Lake of Fire with everyone that is in it. There are 54 verses in the Bible which has the word "Hell" in it. Below are only a few of them with only a few words from each verse concerning Hell.

Isaiah 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
Isaiah 33:14 . . . Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
Isa 66:22-24 , 22 - those who transgress against God will be Tormented Forever; 23 - Fire shall not be quenched; 24 - worm shall not die - a horrible example (Note: This takes place on the New Earth)
Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
Psalms 55:15 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.
Proverbs 5:5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.
Proverbs 15:11 Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
Ezekiel 31:16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down tohell with them that descend into the pit:
Mark 9:43-48 43. - To go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched 44. - where the worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched 45. - to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched 46.- where their worn dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47. - to be cast into hell fire 48.- where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched
Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 18:9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom (Note: this is in the story of Lazarus and the Rich man - note the torments that the rich man has)
Rev 19:20 Lake of Fire
Rev 20:10 Lake of Fire, tormented night and day forever and ever
Rev 20:14 Lake of Fire - This is the second death
Rev 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
Rev 14:3 "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever; and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."

If you still think that God will not send any one into the tormenting fire for all eternity, then continue below to see more of God's attributes.

While it is true that God is a Loving God, a Long Suffering God, and many more attributes like these, It is also true that God is an angry God, a Jealous God, a vengeful God, a destroying God, a revengeful God, against all those who hate Him, against all those who will not Obey Him.

Jer 48:10 cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully
Ezek 7:4 My eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have Pity. (Note: there are many verses which say these exact words.)
Deut 32:35-36 Vengeance belongs to me
Deut 32:41 I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
Deut 32:43 for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.
Judges 11:36 forasmuch as the LORD hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies,
Psalms 94:1 O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth,
Psalms 149:7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
Proverbs 6:34 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
Isaiah 35:4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
Isaiah 63:4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
Nahum 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
2 Thessalonians 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Heb. 10:30 Vengeance belongs to me.

There are just too many verses to put them all here.

Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Numbers 14:18 The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
