Why Fear God?

By Rev. Jack Barr     Dec. 18, 2009

As I prayed this evening, I felt commanded by My Lord and God Jesus Christ to post the following message on the Fear of God.

I have met so very many people who claim to be Christians. That is, they claim to be following and Worshiping Jesus Christ, Who is the WORD of God, Who is the Only Begotten Son of God, Who is part of the Trinity of God, yet, by their words, and actions, they have Absolutely NO Fear of God.  They pay no attention to what Jesus has told them about their need to Fear God. They pay no attention to anything that God Almighty and all the Prophets of Old has told us about our need to Fear God.

They rather listen to what their backslid Pastor said, They rather listen to what just anybody says, anything that sounds good.  They are told almost daily that God is NOT to be Feared at all. They do not want to hear that they are to Fear God, for God just cannot be that way.

They are told by some that God is just so Loving of us that He would never put anyone into Hell. No Indeed, they are told that God would Never do that because He Loves us too Much to do that.

They are told by some that if they do not make it to heaven that God will just speak them out of Existence, that there will be no punishment, or else that the punishment will be to be for them to be totally eliminated by God. No Suffering after death.

They are told by some that everyone will make it into heaven. Just that some will have to be cleansed in either a place called Purgatory, or even the place called Hell. That after they themselves atone for their sins that God will welcome them into heaven with open arms.

They are told by some that if they belong to this Denomination, or that Denomination, that they are guaranteed their place in heaven, so they need have no fear of God.

They are told by some that IF God cannot bring everyone to heaven, then he is Not God, because God is all powerful, and not bringing everyone to heaven shows that he is Not all Powerful.

They are told by some that after death when they stand before God for judgment that they can then Repent and God will welcome them into Heaven.

We can go on with reasons after reasons they give, as to why they do not have to Fear God.

But What Does the Word Of GOD say about Fearing God???   For there are many who have never read it in God's Word, and there are many who have read it in God's Word, but refuse to accept what The Word of God has said.

For those who have not read the Word of God, or those who have chosen to ignore the Word of God, I offer the following Verses from God's Word as given in the Bible (KJV)

God Requires us to Fear HIM

De 10:12  And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Jesus Said,

Mt. 10:28 "And fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

Lk. 12:5 "But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear; Fear him who, after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him."

Be aware all those who will Not Fear the Most Holy Lord God, Though you call yourself a Christian, Though you go to church every time the doors are open, Though you declare that you love Jesus, That if you are so very sure that you have no need to FEAR God, that God says that you are Evil and Bitter, and God says that you have forsaken God, because the Fear of God is NOT in you.  For God has Commanded repeatedly throughout the Bible, which is the Word of God, that every man, woman and child is to Fear Him, as Well as to Worship Him.

For those of you who declare out of one side of your mouth that you do indeed Fear the Lord God, yet declare out of the other side of your mouth the reasons why God WILL NOT send YOU to Hell and the Lake of Fire because God is this or God is that. You show yourself to be without any Fear of God at all.

For you, I am praying that your Spiritual Eyes will be opened and that you will fall  upon your knees before the Most Holy Lord God and Tremble in Fear at how you responded to God's call upon your life. For when you do really Fear God, then you will Truly Worship God, as God has Commanded us to worship Him.

For God truly Loves those who do Fear and Worship Him, but Hates those who will not Fear and Worship Him, for if one does NOT Fear God, then they do not, and can not, Worship God.
